How Insurance & Superbills WorkMeet Your Provider
Hi, I’m Lindsey. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m Lindsey Welch, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Welch Psychiatric Group.
After nearly a decade in nursing, I have learned that people rarely fit neatly into a diagnosis. The symptoms that bring someone to psychiatry matter, but so does everything happening around them—their health, relationships, responsibilities, stress, sleep, history, and the life they are trying to get back to.
I created WPG to offer psychiatric care that feels less rushed and more human. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and evidence-based. I want you to understand what I am thinking, why I am recommending something, and what your options are.
As a mother of three, I also understand how personal it can feel to ask for help for yourself or your child. My goal is for you to leave our appointments feeling heard, informed, and clear about what comes next.

Common Questions
A few things you may be wondering.
Starting psychiatric care can come with a lot of questions. Here are a few of the ones we hear most often.
What happens during my first appointment?
Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We will talk through what has been going on, your health and treatment history, current symptoms, daily life, and what you hope will feel different. The goal is to understand the bigger picture and leave you with clear next steps.
Do I have to take medication?
No. An evaluation does not commit you to medication. If medication may be helpful, we will discuss why, review the options, and make decisions together. Questions and preferences are always part of the conversation.
Do you accept insurance?
Self-pay appointments are available now. HSA/FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. In-network participation with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare is currently in progress.
How does care work for children and teens?
Pediatric care is designed around both the child and the family. Parents or guardians are included appropriately throughout evaluation and treatment, while age and developmental needs help guide how each visit is structured.
Your Next Step
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.
If something has not felt right, previous treatment has not quite worked, or you are simply ready to better understand what is going on, we can start there.
